I had been experiencing muscle aches and tension around my neck, shoulders and upper back. I suspected my posture at the computer was to blame. Jonathan was able to identify and ease the tenseness with a course of massage therapy over a number of weeks. Thanks Jonathan.

Outlined below are the different types of massages we can assist with:

Remedial Massage

Incorporates several specialised massage techniques to locate and help ease muscle stiffness and tension in the body. Firm, remedial massage is the best treatment for freeing up adhesions (little knots) in muscles, stretching out strained / tightened muscles and just giving your body a 'wake-up' call for the rest of the week.

Relaxation Massage

A full body massage with lots of sweeping and gliding techniques from the head to the feet. Acupressure meridians are stimulated through the arms and legs and down the sides of the body, as well as key hot spots in the back of the neck, face and scalp.

Chinese Cupping & Spooning

Glass or plastic cups are used on the body to create a suction or negative pressure and then glided over muscles and adhesions. The resulting sensation is similar to deep tissue massage. This highly effective massage modality helps unlock deeper layers of connective and muscle tissue. It is common for marks to appear post-treatment - these are perfectly normal and typically last 3-7 days.

Sports & Deep Tissue Massage

A highly effective treatment for clients in running clubs, that visit the gym regularly or compete in sports teams. Vigorous rubbing techniques are used to warm up muscle tissue. Long, deep strokes - through large muscle groups such as the quads and gluteals - can help eliminate toxins and lactic acid from the body.

Hot Stones Massage

Only available in the Touch Point clinic, which is located at Level 1, 374 Bridge Road, Richmond.

Hot stones massage involves the placement of warmed, smooth rocks upon different parts of the body. Typically, the treatment is done in conjunction with traditional massage techniques, such as Swedish or Lomi Lomi massage, and the stones may be used with applied pressure by the massage therapist during the treatment.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a pain-relief technique that alleviates muscle spasms and cramping. The therapist locates and deactivates 'trigger points', which are often wound-up muscles that have been damaged or are "kinked". Holding trigger points down for 45-60 seconds helps alleviate pain in the surrounding area of the muscle. The major goals are to reduce spasm, inducing new blood flow into the affected area.

Hawaiian / Lomi Lomi Massage

Lomi Lomi massage involves long, deep pressure strokes and movements rather than pointed, isolated pressure as in other forms of massage. It helps relieve stress and fatigue, and reconnects you to your physical self. Definitely the treatment to choose at the end of a long, active day when you're on your feet a lot.

Thai Massage

Thai massage is a massage style that involves stretching and deep massage. This form of bodywork is usually performed on the floor, and the client wears comfortable clothes that allow for movement. No oils are used in Thai massage.
